ChitChat

The last couple days I’ve been leveling my druid off and on.  I need her herbalism for inscription and it would be nice to be able to make my own pots.  She’s balanced, and still in level 70 epic gear.  She still packs a punch when I get jumped by horde though.  I put the smack down on a 76 hunter and a 74 rogue after the hunter caught me low hp and health while fighting a mob.  I swoopped back in though and owned em(switched to my 70 pvp gear also hehe), then owned the rogue when he tried to help the hunter.  Revenge is always the best reason the gank!

I’m a bad guildie; I skipped the raid last night to watch a marathon I downloaded.  They did just fine with out me though, which is both expected and irking.

I probably could have sat out and still gotten points for the night; my expierence tells me we’ll be doing the same instance for a very long time, and I have more chance of getting sick of the darn thing, than not getting enough of it.  I could probably sneak into a wendigo or puppies 25-man naxx if I tried.  😛  We’ll see.

Here’s to leveling a second 80!  Will I bother with my rogue….probably not.  I’m really enjoying my ele shaman, I think I’ll finish my hunter next.  Always loved Pokemon haha!

PEWPEW

I’ve been’a’slack’in on my blog posts.  So here’s a recap of the last 2 weeks:

  • Decided Resto Shamans got nothing on resto druids as far as quality of play time.
  • Speced Ele-Pewpew!
  • Filled my inventory slots with any Ele-type dps items.
  • Hit 3,200 dps in 25-naxx and 2,500 dps in 10-naxx.
  • Played ten 3v3 games with a boomkin and mage.  Lots of fun!
  • Druid leveled to 74 almost.
  • Researching Inscription Glyphs.
  • Exalted with Wyrmrest working on the Kirin.
  • Still no epic flying mount on meh Shaman(could have bought it, but I have other plans for my profit, what they are, I’m still fuzzy on).

With that out of the way, lets move on to the juice.  I love Elemental dps.  I may not be able to pump out 6k dps(yet), but I’m having alot more fun in raids than I was healing.  I finally dug my heels into the ground enough to tell our raid leaders, “take me or leave me(as dps).”  I would have been content with either response(considering how easy it seems to be to get a spot in a pug).  Except for a couple jabs at me not being a healer anymore, they were gracious about me dpsing.

‘N so my dps adventure begins, happily and vindicated.  I don’t have my exact specs right now, but I’ll tell ya estimates(unbuffed).

  • 21.5 Crit
  • 1600 Spell Power(yuck!)
  • 215 Hit
  • 430 Haste

That’s all the important stuff.  I suppose I could give  you my Int value, if I remembered it.  As it stands, maxing my Hit then my SP are my top priorities.  My Wrath totems helps immensely in raids as far as SP goes.  I’ll go over my talents at some point, right now, time isn’t on my side.

I’ll conclude this entry with a promise for better numbers, more posts, ‘n a stiff drink with the next one.   Pewpew!

Arena: Frist Look

Last night, some friends asked me if I would like to do a 3v3 with them.  I hesitated saying, “hell ya!” because I have no resilence and four peices of cloth in my gear(not to mention no trinket either).  I warned them that I was squishy and accepted their offer.

Sufficed to say, I died with in the frist 15 seconds of most of the fights.  Long enough to pop heroism and a couple heals, then I was dog food.  I walked in the situation anticipating this (apparently my friends did too), so my pride wasn’t hurt as much as it was when I did 5v5s with a friend and three pugs.  I could tell, they were trying real hard to win (not that I wasn’t, just a different mindset when you have the gear and when you don’t), again I would pop heroism and heal a bit, then get rocked.  Usually a dk and rogue, or dk and warrior slam into me once I’m discovered.

I have to admit, being asking, “Why are you wearing cloth when you can wear mail?!” was frustrating.  Was it such a forgien concept to that a PVEr would wear gear with the most spell damage, haste, or MP5 over a mail piece with less?  I mean, it makes sense to me.  I went into the games professing how squishy and undergeared I was for arenas.  “We wouldn’t be able to do the games at all without you,” was one response.  Regardless, we did all 10 games.  At least I’ll have points next week.  Gotta get the gear somehow.

Heoric Sarth

Is easy as pie.

I went with a PUG consisting of mostly Focused Aggression and Wendigo Brewing Co.  I think I saw a couple Puppies in there too.  Literally, the directions they gave me was to either, enter portals or don’t enter portals.  Was Bliz trying to make all the content PUGable?  Because I can’t imagine there being any other impresssion after what I’ve seen in this 25-man.

I would try to give a run down on the fights, but I don’t really know what was going on except the portal things and the fact that we either had too many healers or there just wasn’t enough damage going on.  I was overhealing with my instants, let alone my casts.  I think I could have spammed lightning bolts and been more productive.

I’m starting to get the idea that all the instances, 25-mans and below, require 3 healers at the most.  I can see a well geared healer soloing most of the fights in Naxx, healing wise.  If they didn’t require the raid spliting up, I doubt we’d be useing more than one healer in 3 months.  Kinda sad.  I understand how tanks feel now when it came to raid spots in BC.

When the dual-specs come out, players will be so much better off for encounters.  Loot distribution will be hairy though.  I know I’d be tempted to role on some hit gear…of coruse I’d never take it from someone who dpsed all the time, would I?

Happy Holidays!

Thank goodness they’re over…

My guild did our frist ever guild only Naxx run Tuesday.  We cleared all wings in under 4 hours.  I’m not sure where that ranks in other guilds, but considering it’s our second full naxx run, I think we did pretty well.  The Frost Drake is our next goal.  We pulled him/her a couple times, but there wasn’t any rush to get it done.  I’m at 2pieces of the resto teir-7 with a couple badge peices and the rockin’ epic caster mace from Heroic Nexus.  My mana regen is much better than it was, but my haste is really limiting.

I’m a shamed to say our pally, Nettogrof, absolutly rocked me on the healing meters.  Now don’t get the wrong idea, that I weight my skill solely on where I am in the list, but it’s a nice competitive edge to a very uncompetitive part of the game.  I like knowing I put out the most effective healing, but the bottom line will always be to do my job, which is keeping the raid alive and kickin’.
